Over the past seven years since starting Ingrid Pregel Consulting Inc. she has facilitated strategic planning projects, designed and implemented customized enterprise risk management processes and provided organization design and board governance advice for a wide range of private, public and not for profit organizations.
Until 2007, Ingrid was a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice. For twenty five years, Ingrid worked with a wide range of organizations in the private, not for profit and broader public sectors to increase the effectiveness of people (Board, management, staff and stakeholders) in accomplishing vision, mission and strategic goals. Her work typically involved the customized design and execution of stakeholder consultation strategies as well as working together with the organization’s executive team to conclude useful, implementable strategies and improvement opportunities.
Ingrid is a seasoned facilitator, comfortable in a wide range of milieus, able to bridge the gap from theory to practical, with a particular skill in helping groups achieve consensus on solutions. She focuses on organizational and governance effectiveness, strategic planning, human resource management and leading change. She has worked with a wide range of clients in private business, government, and not for profit sectors
From 2007 to 2009 Ingrid held a contract role with the City of Kitchener. She served as Manager of Cultural Development and led the City’s project to develop a community investment strategy as well as oversight of development and revision of a number of related City policies.
Ingrid began her consulting career with Ernst & Ernst. Over the years she stayed with the firm through a number of mergers. After KPMG sold its consulting business and that organization became a publicly traded company (BearingPoint) she rejoined KPMG LLP. Ingrid works throughout Southwestern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Ingrid is currently the Chair of the Board at United Way Kitchener Waterloo & Area and has been a board member for three years. Ingrid has held roles as President, Vice President, Secretary and the Past President of the Council of CMC Ontario (formerly ICMCO -Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario), was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and a member of the Board of Directors at KidsAbility (Centre for Child Development) for nine years. She has previously been a Board member at the Brampton YMCA and was President of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
